Breathing Humans into Buildings (Breathing life into 12 landmark London buildings)

Simon Elliott (Ahh…Arts Igniting Minds) and Auro Foxcroft (Village Underground) have been short-listed as one of five proposals in the Artists Taking the Lead project, which is part of the artistic celebrations for the London 2012 Olympics.

Artists Taking the Lead
They will lead some of the world’s most exciting artists and creatives, to breathe Olympic fervour into London’s celebrated buildings.
Can London’s buildings feel? Could the city become so charged with the Olympic spirit and sense of brilliance that it becomes animated and begins to move? Can a whole city empathise with the Olympic Games? This project would be the first of many future expositions, which would breathe life into our architecture.
Mammoth video projections will create the illusion that the buildings are breathing, feeling, leaning, turning. Artists interpret the emotions, tone, play and actions of Olympic athletes, charging them with such spirit of the games that London’s buildings will actually be seen to move.
In partnership with Open House
"We wanted to animate London in subtle and extraordinary ways, working with international artists and our global population to bring people closer to the spirit of the games."
